Understanding Added Sugars & Simple Carbohydrates
Aug 05, 2026 2:20 pm
Hi Friend,
Many people think sugar only comes from desserts or candy, but added sugars can hide in foods we eat every day β including sauces, breads, yogurt, cereals, drinks, and even βhealthyβ snacks.
Simple carbohydrates and added sugars digest quickly, causing rapid rises and falls in blood sugar levels. This can lead to:
- Energy crashes
- Increased cravings
- Mood swings
- Hunger shortly after eating
- Difficulty managing weight and blood sugar
The goal this week is awareness β not perfection.
