Why Holding it In = Letting it Out

Jul 14, 2026 9:18 pm

Hi ,

Most people were never taught how to be with emotion.

So we learn two protective strategies and we call them “personalities.”

One is to hold it in.

To stay composed. To stay reasonable. To stay “fine.”

To keep the peace, even when something inside you is not at peace.

The other is to let it out.

To vent. To purge. To say it all at once because it’s been contained for too long.

To finally release the pressure.

Neither of these is wrong.

They are both intelligent responses from a system trying to create safety.

But they can keep you in the same loop.

Because suppression without regulation becomes contraction.

Contraction is not strength. It’s the body bracing around truth. It’s the internal clenching that says, “If I say this, something bad will happen.”

And expression without regulation can become discharge.

Discharge is not presence. It’s overflow. It’s the system offloading intensity because it doesn’t yet know how to hold the feeling with awareness. It can sound like honesty, but it is a projection, and it creates an impact, often with consequences.

This is where the real invitation begins.

Not “hold it in” or “let it out.”

But the third way: to become the "pure-awareness" of what you feel.

To notice the sensation.

To notice the story forming.

To notice the urge to protect, perform, please, attack, or avoid.

And to stay with yourself long enough for the deeper truth underneath the emotion to reveal itself.

That is pure-awareness.

And for many, it is the return to the spiritual self: the part of you that can feel fully, without becoming possessed by or attached to the feeling.

This is what we will be facilitating this weekend.

Because “Your Voice Matters” is not a workshop for people who don’t know how to talk.

It is for people who are tired of the cost of their coping personalities.

Tired of abandoning themselves to keep connection.

Tired of saying it beautifully but not truthfully.

Tired of bursting, then cleaning up the aftermath.

Tired of shrinking, then carrying the unsaid for days.

This is also why I thought the timing is significant.

You may have heard astrologers referencing André Barbault a lot lately.

He was known for studying long-range collective cycles (especially outer-planet patterns) and comparing them with historical turning points. He’s often quoted because of a widely discussed cycle-based forecast pointing to major restructuring around 1989, long before those events unfolded.

This July, there’s a rare geometry some are calling the “Barbault basket”: a linked sequence of outer-planet aspects that many associate with a collective threshold: where old narratives thin out, old strategies stop holding, and something more honest starts coming forward.

So if you’ve felt lately like your usual way of coping is no longer working, you’re not imagining it.

Sometimes the system gets louder because it’s ready for change and transition.
